New Project, New Group

For this project, my group is made up of me, and my friends Sam and Macy. We all like Olivia Rodrigo, which is why it wasn't hard to decide on one of her songs to use for this music video. In the previous project, it was only Sam and me working together. This proved to be very effective because since we are both such good friends. So, it was easy to get things done without conflict. However, this time around, me and Sam decided to work with Macy as well. She is also a hardworking person, so we knew she would be a good addition. Plus, we figured it would be a good idea to branch out and try something new for the start of a new project. We all have our own special talents and skills. So, all of us can help out with certain aspects of the music video. Macy is amazing at practically anything that involves music. She is in a band and even plays the guitar. So, she is very experienced in the music field. Due to this, Macy can do all the musical aspects of the video. This includes choosing the best parts of the song to use and controlling the music as we are filming scenes. Sam is very theatrical and loves acting. Therefore, she can enjoy acting in our video. Also, she can tell me and Macy how to improve our acting to better the video's quality. Lastly, I am good at editing and working with cameras and angles. Though we will all be helping shoot, I can make all the edits to the footage using programs like iMovie once filming is complete.

Short Film Research: Omnibus/ Comedy

     Hey everyone, welcome back to another one of our research blogs. Today we will be digging in and looking into the Short Film Omnibus, a comedy. This film was made by Sam Karmann and won the Oscar in the 1992-1993 awards season. It portrays a Frenchman trying to get off of a train at a stop which it wasn't scheduled for. In this film, the sound starts off as some cheesy movie intro, giving us this pattern that that's how a short film comedy should start. On the train in this film, all you could hear was the sound of the engine along with the dialogue between the Frenchman and the worker on the train. The idea of minimum sound is now starting to become a pattern we have noticed through the short films we have analyzed so far. When analyzing the Mis-en-scene in this film, the costumes are usually oversized for the main character who has to well be humorous. Production is not for the Weak!

Hello, reader! As always, welcome back to my blog! I am glad you were able to stop by again. There are a few thing that have changed since you were last here. For example, my group and I were only able to film a small portion of our short film yesterday. Today, we were planning on finishing the production, but we are all very busy with a studying for a test in another class. So, none of us really prioritized the short film getting made. However, I do want to finish it soon because I love the editing process that comes after production finishing.  Also, speaking of the editing process, it is very tedious. Since I am usually in charge of the editing of a media project, I am worried for a few reasons. One thing that I am worried about is that I will run out of time and not finish editing the final short film. Our Script

  Scene 1:   Film opens to shot of a window on a house. It is nighttime and a group of girls are having a pillow fight in the room seen through the window.     Scene 2:   Camera moves through the window and takes the audience into the bedroom with the girls. They stop fighting and decide they need water and snacks, so they call to the girl in the kitchen and tell her to hurry up.     Scene 3:    Cuts to the girl in the kitchen getting glasses of water when the microwave beeps. Shot of her opening the microwave door and grabbing the popcorn. Then we follow her as she balances everything and yells back saying “Coming!” to her friends.     Scene 4:   The girls all sit in a circle on the bed with the popcorn bowl in the middle.
