Hey everyone, welcome back to another one of our research blogs. Today we will be digging in and looking into the Short Film Omnibus, a comedy. This film was made by Sam Karmann and won the Oscar in the 1992-1993 awards season. It portrays a Frenchman trying to get off of a train at a stop which it wasn't scheduled for. In this film, the sound starts off as some cheesy movie intro, giving us this pattern that that's how a short film comedy should start. On the train in this film, all you could hear was the sound of the engine along with the dialogue between the Frenchman and the worker on the train. The idea of minimum sound is now starting to become a pattern we have noticed through the short films we have analyzed so far. When analyzing the Mis-en-scene in this film, the costumes are usually oversized for the main character who has to well be humorous. The Frenchman in this film had a brief case, and an oversized suit, which is common in comedy films where the main...
Welcome to another blog of mine! My group I have been working very hard to finish production for our film. The last time we filmed, we got to finish some outdoor scenes. This time, we filmed a lot more outdoor scenes. But, there were still plenty of roadblocks in the way. The biggest roadblock I had to face was getting to Hunter, my groupmate's, house to film. My house is currently under extreme renovation. A few days ago some workers came to my house to remove the popcorn ceilings. The workers said they have to scrape the ceilings fresh, and then re-paint. This whole process takes several days. It is also a very messy process. Because of this, it has been very hectic in my house. My family and I have to move into a hotel temporarily until the work is done. So, for these reasons it was really hard to find a ride to get to Hunter's house to film that day. However, eventually, I was able to get a ride from my mom. This delay in me getting to Hunter's house, really cost my g...
We officially starting filming as a group! On Thursday my group and I went to Macy's house afterschool. We had a limited amount of time so we had to film just a few scenes. But, we still made a huge chunk in our progress. Our film has a bunch of teenage girls at a sleepover in it. So, we decided to invite some of our friends over to create that environment. We invited over our friends Taylee and Sabrina! We told them to dress in pajamas so that it looked like we were at a sleepover. When everyone got to Macy's house, we began planning out which scenes we could film. We decided to finish filming the kitchen scene. But, we quickly realized that there was a slight problem in our production time. It was daytime and our film is set at night. So, we had to cover up all the light that was coming through the windows in the kitchen. We did this by making Taylee hold up a blanket to the windows so it looked like there was no light coming through! Then, we filmed...
